For sale: A striking pair of early vintage Goodmans loudspeakers, housed in substantial real-wood veneered cabinets with their original woven front grilles and Goodmans badges.
These appear to be an early Goodmans A.R.U. / Triaxiom-based loudspeaker system, most likely from the late 1950s to early 1960s period. Based on the cabinet construction, rear acoustic-resistance section and rear level control, they show strong similarities to the Goodmans AL120, although no model identification label is present and therefore the exact model cannot be guaranteed.
The rear of each cabinet features the characteristic acoustically resistive vent arrangement associated with early Goodmans designs, together with a rotary level control and vintage two-pin loudspeaker connection.
A very interesting pair for a collector of early British hi-fi, Goodmans, Leak, Quad, valve amplifiers or period-correct stereo equipment.

Cosmetic condition:
The speakers are in used vintage condition with considerable cosmetic wear consistent with their age.
- Numerous scratches and surface marks to the wooden cabinets
- Several areas of veneer loss and chipped edges
- One cabinet has a particularly noticeable missing section of veneer at the upper corner
- Additional wear and chips around the lower edges and corners
- Visible colour / finish differences between the two cabinets
- Rear panels show paint wear, scratches and age-related marks
- Original woven front grilles remain present
- Both original Goodmans grille badges are present
- Rear acoustic-resistance material is aged but still present
- Please inspect all photographs carefully for the exact cosmetic condition
The cabinets remain very attractive as genuine unrestored vintage pieces, but they are not cosmetically mint.
